The Big B's of Italy: A Tasting Tour of Brunello, Barolo and Barbaresco

Because we've recently spent time tasting through Italy, including the June club selections of Brunellos, it was clear that many of you wanted to know more about the difference between the three Bs of Italy. Brunello and Barolo are vastly different and certainly take the lion's share of the discussion, but another delicious comparison between Barolo and its neighbor Barbaresco is also worth exploring in the same evening.
We'll try two wines from each region to understand the style and structure, discuss what to expect in terms of flavors, aging, and typical prices. Where applicable, the tasting will include detailed analysis of the vineyards and winemaking styles, and how together these achieve the final results.
You'll leave with a clear understanding of the styles you prefer, what foods to pair them with when you cook or go out, and how much you can or should expect to spend on these wines.
Several of the wines will also be available for purchase after the event.

6pm on Thursday, August 24th
Wines in Tandem Tasting Room @ 222 D Street.
It's okay to arrive a bit early and mingle, but please aim to be in the shop ready to taste by 6pm. We'll end the tasting by 7:30pm and close up at 8pm.
Cost
$50/per person for members and 1 guest. Many of you are 'household' members, and I expect that you and your partner will be the 2 people attending. If that's not the case with your membership, you are encouraged to bring a plus 1.
The cost for non members is $70/ per person.
The fee will only slightly cover the cost of the program, so I hope you take the opportunity to purchase a bottle or two if you find a favorite, Members can save 15% on any bottle purchases, and 20% on the Cerbaia Brunello.
A delicious charcuterie spread will be provided by Mabel's Farm Box.
